Reporting to the Director, Risk Management, the Financial Analyst will work closely with Roll Global’s risk team and businesses across the corporation to support and analyze the company’s global risk and insurance function. The position is focused on risk data gathering, quantitative and qualitative evaluation and data management. This role affords a flexible and motivated financial analyst the opportunity to broaden their skills into the areas of corporate risk management at a large multi-business corporation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage large quantity of underwriting data including historical risk exposure, premium, operational and past analytic results and condense them down into a coherent story with clear, easy to follow conclusions and implications
- Formulate the underwriting data gathering strategy, determine the data requirements, obtain/extract and manipulate data, conduct the analyses, determine the conclusions and then communicate those to the risk team and other interested parties in a concise and organized fashion
- Provide administrative and analytical support to Director, Risk Management
- Evaluate the economic viability of insurance quotes and other department expenses
- Assist in in the total cost of corporate risk calculations
- Perform financial analyses of claims activity and litigation costs
- Coordinate claims and litigation. Develop and collaborate successful partnerships between associates, insurance brokers, counsel and third party administrators (TPAs)
- Ad-hoc analytical tasks and special projects as assigned
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or Accounting required, MBA a plus
- Requires 2-4 years of experience in a financial planning analysis, reporting or similar function at a multi-location corporation
- Corporate Risk Management experience or ARM, Associate in Risk Management, designation desirable but not required
- Superior analytical skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel (e.g. use of formulae, Pivot Tables, data queries, macros, graphs, ranges, financial functions, conditional statements, lookups)
- Must be flexible and comfortable with constantly shifting priorities and able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess a personal sense of urgency and superior teamwork skills
- Able to effectively prioritize, organize and perform multiple tasks with varying deadlines
- Outstanding verbal/written communication, presentation and organizational skills
