Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis in support of the Retail line of business. The successful candidate will be able to provide analytical rigor to financial results, working with financial and operational metrics. This individual will also conduct technical research to provide management with definitive financial data for use in setting and realizing objectives.
Develop and maintain appropriate financial reporting and variance analysis of financial statement data, summary financial reports, and ad hoc financial analysis. Help prepare documentation required to support the implementation and maintenance of the analysis.
Utilize appropriate accounting theory and principles to assist in the preparation and analysis of financial and accounting information for Retail line of business. Complete appropriate analysis that provides the Retail line of business with timely financial information, which accurately measures financial results, assesses risk, and enhances decision making for accruals, budgets and forecasts.
Maintain and perform month-end financial responsibilities including income statement review and detailed variance analysis. Assist, as necessary, with the month-end close process.
Utilize analytical skills to compile data, research and analyze financial and accounting information, cost saving opportunities, and streamlining and standardizing of business, financial and operating processes. Recommend changes which will increase revenues or decrease costs.
Recommends improvements to and documents financial and operating policies, procedures, and processes that clearly identify issues and results, and which improve consistency, accuracy and timeliness and strengthen internal controls.
Coordinate the development, preparation and consolidation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Work with department management and assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for department payroll costs and operating expenses.
Work with other members of financial team to coordinate multiple projects with assigned team members.
Designs advanced Excel models and spreadsheets.
Qualifications
Knowledge
- Must have the ability to quickly grasp understanding of the organization, work environment, products and processes with working knowledge of financial analysis.
- Must be able to make decisions based on precedent and solve arising problems using sound judgment and experience.
- Financial analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting a plus.
- Experience with process improvement tools strategies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Experience
5-10 years of finance/accounting experience
Experience with budgeting and forecasting
Strong PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable
Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
Experience with Hyperion Essbase
Experience with creating Access databases and Visual Basic, SQL
Experience with the following reporting tools: nVision, Query, Crystal Reports, Monarch
