Financial Analyst – Trading firm – Sydney recruitment
Responsibilities:
Financial Management Reporting
• Preparation of bank reconciliations and petty cash
• Calculation of interest accruals on bank accounts
• Book monthly FX on foreign currency bank accounts
• Ensure invoices are coded appropriately for posting to GL
• Agree allocation rules each month with Desk Heads and Head of IT
• Monthly allocation of all costs to profit centers
• Monthly booking of accruals and prepayments
• Monthly booking of annual leave and long service leave provisions
• Maintain the fixed assets register and calculate the monthly depreciation
• Calculation of investment management fees and settlement
• Calculation of royalty fee income to head office
• Review global charges from head office and other offices to ensure reasonableness
• Monthly recharge of costs to head office and other offices
• Review monthly reconciliation of Trading PL and direct costs to ensure accuracy and completeness for booking into GL
• Monthly calculation of the bonus provision, taxes and charity accruals
• Monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances
• Monthly variance analysis on PL and BS including variances against budget
Account ownership reconciliation and sign off
• Prepare gross up of balance sheet relating to financial positions held
• Maintain the OBU entity and ensure compliance with tax requirements
• Ensure that the requirements of the AFSL license conditions are met on a monthly basis
• Assist with the preparation of the monthly management report for CFO
• Assist with the budget preparation and latest estimates for senior management
• Assist with the year end preparation of financial statements and audit
• Assist with implementation of a new GL system
• Other ad hoc projects
Payroll
• Calculate monthly payroll adjustments for processing by external payroll provider (new employees, termination, travel allowance, salary sacrifice, reimbursements…)
• Review payroll reports for accuracy
• Ensure correct and timely payment of salary every month
• Ensure monthly PAYG and superannuation are reconciled and paid within the required deadlines
• Respond to employees regarding ad hoc queries
Qualifications, Relevant Skills and Experiences:
• Newly qualified CA/CPA with experience preferably in the trading/ banking/ finance or professional services industries in a multinational environment
• Familiar with the regulatory reporting requirements of local exchanges and local taxation requirements
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Savvy with technology
• In depth knowledge of systems (SAP preferred, Work day), Excel (pivot tables, charting, macros, etc.), Access and VBA preferred
