About our client
A leading US-based private equity fund, with close to US $70 billion assets under management, seeks an experienced investment officer/ financial controller professional for its Mexico City fund of funds.
Responsibilities
- Solid experience and knowledge in financial reporting and control, preferably coming from the private equity sector
- Ability to oversee and manage the due diligence process and liaise with senior level officials
- Coordinate and communicate activities and developments with the fund’s global management team
- Develop and maintain communications and relationships with funds and companies in the portfolio as well as with the investors
- Build and cultivate relationships with local regulatory authorities, including the CNBV, CONSAR and BMV
- Coordinate and manage relations and responsibilities with external advisors on legal, tax, accounting and valuation issues
- Maintain contact and relations with all Afores participating in the fund’s CKD
- Monitor all investments in Mexico and developments in the Latin American region
- Oversee all accounting activities of the fund, including, payroll, payables, etc
Skills we’re looking for
- Mexican national, with local, on-the-ground knowledge and experience in the Mexican PE market and key players
- Solid track record in financial control and investments in PE
- Dedicated and loyal, interested in building a long term career with the fund
- Understanding and experience with CKD instruments
- Experience dealing with the CNBV, BMV, CONSAR Afores as well as with banking financial institutions
- Strong leader, one who could take the reins of managing the operations in Mexico in the future
- Bi lingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a multi-cultural, global environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or legal degree
- MBA, with a preference for a CFA
