REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Financial Application Support position will report to the Business System Manager
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Trading, Portfolio Management, Operations and other business teams, this is a junior Financial Application Support position under supervision of Business System Manager. This position will provide functional technical support for business applications, work with business users on mission critical projects to identify, analyze and translate needs into specifications and implement solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- As a part of technology team, provide first level of support for automated and user driven applications and processes facilitating trade flow, fund pricing and valuation, research, reporting, internal and external data feeds.
- Independently troubleshoot data issues and workflow and understand downstream application impact.
- Be able to work closely with end users to proactively address data and reporting request.
- Under limited supervision, work with cross-functional teams translating business requirement into system interface specifications, logical and physical data modeling and work on prototypes.
- Create process documents in a clear and comprehensive manner capturing data, time and process dependencies.
- Develop new workflows or modify existing workflows to meet business requirements.
- Coordinate software implementations and upgrades with software vendors and outside consultants.
- Write SQL database queries to provide data extracts and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 years of exposure to investment technology preferred.
- Good Understanding of Equities and Fixed Income securities.
- Degree in business, computer science and/or related field required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
- Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Must be systems-oriented, enjoy learning new products and tools, and be a self-motivated learner.
- Hands-on with the SQL statements, MS SQL Server, Visual Basic and Excel Macro Programming.
