Financial Consultant - Asset Management
The Financial Consultant position will provide financial and analytical support to Ryder's Asset Management Organization (including the Rental and Used Vehicle Sales Groups). The position will be responsible for providing up-to-date market and competitive intelligence and the development of statistical, econometric and financial models, using economic indicators and general industry trends, to determine forecasts and support strategic and tactical initiatives; periodic and ad hoc analysis and reporting and provide on-going business analysis to develop recommendations for alternative scenarios surrounding profit improvement and shareholder value creation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering or Economics.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years of accounting/finance experience is required.
- Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel such as working with formulas, data tables, pivot Charts, queries, custom functions, data management analysis and developing financial reports. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Experienced in building financial / operational models.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills with ability to think strategically.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to generate innovative insights and conclusions from analysis of large amounts of data.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively interact with various levels in the organization.
- Excellent written, oral and formal communication skills.
- Ideal candidate is a team player with the ability to produce high-quality work under high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of SQL, Ryder's financial systems or Field Operations is a plus.
- Identify, analyze and interpret economic indicators that influence Ryder’s Asset Management activities.
- Develop models to determine forecasts and strategic initiatives/plans based on economic indicators.
- Prepare presentations to Asset Management leadership, summarizing findings and analyses (dashboards).
- Provide financial and analytical support for the development of strategic and business plans and quarterly forecasts.
- Provide ad hoc financial and analytical support for projects requested by Senior Management.
- Ad hoc analysis on Rental, UVS and Asset Management initiatives, guided towards improving Ryder’s bottom-line and the company’s return on assets.
