Financial Consultant Financial Reporting

The Financial Consultant for Kaiser Permanente's Financial Reporting Department isresponsible for assisting the Manager of Financial Reporting in the monthly, quarterly and annual close process and the preparation the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes and related analyses; preparing the monthly close calendars; distributing, tracking and receiving quarterly supplemental schedules and templates; and other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: -Assist the Manager of Financial Reporting in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and associated footnotes. - Assist in the review, analysis and preparation of regional GAAP and STAT audited financial statements. - Perform various monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations. - Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual close process, including preparing various schedules, reports and analyses. - Prepare monthly and year-end close calendars and checklists. - Track timeliness of various regional/entity deliverables to POFR and prepare Timeliness report each month for distribution to regions/entities. - Update supplemental schedules, create additional ones as needed, distribute to regions/entities, track their return and copy and distribute to appropriate POFR staff. - Distribute quarterly review templates to regions/entities, track their return and distribute to appropriate POFR staff. - Produce monthly Summary Statement of Membership and Net Income (Flash Report). - Load regional/entity data into the TM1 cube. - Perform quality control checks on IMROP. - Monitor compliance with records retention policy. - Collects PBC information for year-end audit. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: -Eight or moreyears of financial analysisor related experience (financial reporting). - Bachelor's degree in finance related field or equivalent experience. - Regularly contributes to the development of new financial analysis concepts, techniques, and standards. -Frequently contributes to the development of new financial analysis theories and methods. - Expert proficiency in PC based word processing and spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management. - Thorough knowledge of financial analysis policies, practices and systems. - Extensive knowledge of several or all of the following: general finance theories and methodologies, discounted cash flow analysis, cost/benefit analysis, feasibility studies, large scale business planning, financial modeling and project management. Preferred Experience: - Strong knowledge of GAAP. - CPA. - Health Care Accounting or Finance experience. - Proven ability to determine key business issues and develop effective action plans from multi-disciplinary perspectives. - Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills. - Demonstrated excellence in written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Strongdatabase applications and mainframe general ledger accounting applications (OneLink experience).
