Overview: Global Financial Services (GFS) is a function within Global Business Services (GBS).
GFS functions include daily production of PLs, Balance Sheet substantiations, Regulatory Accounting, independent pricing verification and month end processing of transaction feeds into regulatory reporting systems.

The Transaction Accounting Services team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all transactional related postings to the general ledger and substantiation of all affected Balance Sheet balances. Our daily and month-end controls enable us ensure the accuracy of the PL being reported and integrity of our balance sheet.

Key Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities include:

*Month End Accounting process - reconciliation and substantiation of PB PL and Balance Sheet;
*Ownership of Prime Brokerage MAFA reconciliation - investigation and resolution of all discrepancies;
*Production and presentation of Management Reporting Packs which evidence Balance Sheet substantiations and detail provisions, accruals and issues to senior management in London and Birmingham;
*Primary contact for FOBO reconciliation performed offshore, attending weekly control calls and assisting with resolution of breaks as required;
*Manage FX currency exposure for the Prime Brokerage business through FX sell off process;
*Investigate unsubstantiated balances or unexpected movements prior to and post month end close;
*Innovatively streamline current processes and help deliver system enhancements and developments;
*Management of small team in their delivery of daily and month end reports;
*Develop team to consistently deliver at a high standard using monthly one-to-ones and feedback sessions;
*Manage team performance through setting relevant objectives and Personal Development Plans.

You will have: (Skills/Experience)

*A solid accounting or finance background
*Exposure to balance sheets and their substantiation
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong control focus - both financial and operational
*A proven track record in management and people development
*Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc)
*Knowledge of and an interest in financial markets
