Financial Control AVP recruitment
Top Tier Bank looking for an AVP Financial Controller.
The role:
• Improve reporting of monthly close status by upgrading the design and content of the Financial Control monthly review pack (KPI)
• Perform monthly Balance Sheet reviews
• Create and manage action plan to resolve all year end / quarterly reporting issues identified through reporting processes.
• Perform review of risk areas which are inconsistent across business units or non compliant with IFRS
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements as they arise
• Issue reporting timetables, guidance and instructions
• Implement changes required to support quarterly external reporting e.g. disclosure changes or changes to IFRS
• Act for business units providing expert help and guidance
• Investigate and resolve problems, issues and queries, liaising with customers, suppliers and experts as appropriate
• Ensure consistency of approach across the business units
• Help establish a high performing Financial Control team
• Develop knowledge and improve capability within the offshore team
• Manage the effective balance of operations between offshore and onshore Financial Control teams
• Help build a team environment via cross fertilization of knowledge and coaching of peers
Requirements:
• Qualified accountant with over 2 years PQE, with at least one of these being in a financial control capacity
• Up to date technical accounting skills
• Strong stakeholder management across different functions of the business
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills – can operate a Relationship/Partnership approach with the Business, and build a network of contacts
• Excellent team player.
• Ability to communicate confidently with senior management
