Main Function
The US Regulatory Reporting group is primarily responsible for financial and other periodic reporting submissions to various broker-dealer and banking supervisory authorities in the US. The group performs the following functions:
Requisite capital computations for the SEC, FINRA, CFTC, FED and FSA,
Is the principal interface between Barclays Capital and these supervisors with respect to financial responsibility rules (e.g., the SEC Net Capital Rule and Customer Protection Rule, Basel I),
Manages supervisory examinations relating to financial/operational matters,
Analyzes new products and specific transactions for financial regulatory control adherence and capital impact,
Provides interpretive guidance on financial regulatory matters to business units within the firm, and
Assists in managing regulatory capital and risk weighted asset limits.
Main Duties
- Assist in the preparation of Bank regulatory filings for the US Branches and Agencies of BBPLC. The filings include the Call Report (FFIEC 002), Country Exposure Report (FFIEC 019), TIC Reports, FR 2900, FR 2644 and State regulatory filings - The team is responsible for the regulatory compliance with relevant regulations, and provides detailed analysis of the data contained within the filings as well as trend comparisons from period-to-period.
- The team ensures that there is internal Regulatory data integrity (e.g. US Branches and Agencies data in filings as well as financial statement are consistent between Legal entity controllers and regulatory reports), and monitors the compliance with internal and external regulatory limits and thresholds.
Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
- 2+ years Finance or Accounting experience.
- 1+ years knowledge of SEC and various regulatory rules and guidelines
- 1+ years broker dealer product and operational knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience completing financial statements (10K, 10Q) and/or US Bank Regulatory Filings.
- Highly proficient in Excel and Access, knowledge of SAP general ledger a plus
- CPA preferred.
