Main Function

The US Regulatory Reporting group is primarily responsible for financial and other periodic reporting submissions to various broker-dealer and banking supervisory authorities in the US. The group performs the following functions:

Requisite capital computations for the SEC, FINRA, CFTC, FED and FSA,

Is the principal interface between Barclays Capital and these supervisors with respect to financial responsibility rules (e.g., the SEC Net Capital Rule and Customer Protection Rule, Basel I),

Manages supervisory examinations relating to financial/operational matters,

Analyzes new products and specific transactions for financial regulatory control adherence and capital impact,

Provides interpretive guidance on financial regulatory matters to business units within the firm, and

Assists in managing regulatory capital and risk weighted asset limits.

Main Duties

Regulatory Reporting:Coverage of BCI's net capital calculation which includes financial/operational charges, ANC inventory charges, etc.Assisting in the customer reserve and FOCUS processes. Regulatory Risk Control:Development of Reconciliations for the main components of net capitalControl and Process improvements/enhancements Value Add Analysis:Assisting in the development of regulatory analytics to assist management in identifying areas of concern within the broker dealerCollaboration with different areas within and outside Finance in order to educate them about regulatory issues.
