Financial Controller

I am currently recruiting for a European Financial Controller opportunity with a highly recognised international insurance group. Working closely with the CFO and Senior Management team, you will be given ownership of all aspects of Financial Reporting, tax and control across their European Region.

The business has gone through a period of transition over the past few years but is now well poised to take advantage of growth forecasts in their market.

As European Controller you will be responsible for managing the delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting across the region and ensuring rigourous internal controls are maintained. A well established team are already in place but you will be expected to provide direction to them and ensure the relevant reporting requirements in each country are met.

In addition to maintaining financial control, you will also play a key part in integrating and aligning a new country to this region, provide accounting support to the process of developing new products, be the finance lead for Solvency and manage the IFRS and UK GAAP convergence process.

In my opinion this is a broad Financial Controller position, offering fantastic exposure and the opportunity to get involved with interesting projects. Alongside the FPA lead, you will provide first class support for the CFO and step up to cover when needed.

Given the high profile nature of this role, I am looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA, CPA) who is currently working as a Financial Controller or Senior Reporting Manager for an insurance business. In particular I will be looking for strong technical knowledge, recent international controller exposure and evidence that you have lead and developed a team.
