Financial Controller & Company Secretary

A well established business in South Yorkshire is looking to capitalise on it's recent success by investing in key appointments to contribute to future expansion plans. Due to recent retirement announcement Hays are delighted to be working in partnership, on an exclusive basis, with the organisation to appoint a new Financial Controller and Company Secretary.

Reporting to the Managing Director the Financial Controller will be responsible for the production on the monthly management accounts, budgets and efficient running of the accounts department. The post will be a key source of professional financial advice to the MD and management team on all commercial and contractual matters.

With a team of 3 people supporting the post, the accounts department assumes responsibility for the following:

· Monthly management accounts including a detailed financial board pack.
· Preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
· Year-end accounts
· Group reporting
· Monthly Forex reconciliation
· Stock analysis reporting
· VAT Returns
· Payroll - weekly and monthly

The role will be ideally suited to a candidate who is able to demonstrate the following technical skills and personal characteristics:

· Qualified Accountant, ACCA, ACA or CIMA, with an excellent academic record
· Experience of line management in a commercial environment
· Hands on approach with experience of working closely with the board to increase profitability and growth
· Strong technical skills including advanced excel
· Experience of group treasury and currency hedging would be highly advantageous
