Financial Controller – Expenses recruitment
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing strategic support and challenge on all operating expenses; thinking outside the box around alternate cost solutions
• Management of an accounts assistant ensuring appropriate training, development, management and motivation
• Supervision of accounts payable function to include FX, petty cash, corporate cards, intercompany accounts and general cash management (appraisals, 1-1 meetings etc)
• Being technically aware in relation to changes in accounting standards and their impact on financial statements
• Timely and accurate expense and PL reporting, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support.
• Collating monthly budget versus actual expense reporting and summarizing key variances.
• Managing ongoing expense reforecasts to feed into regular PL forecasts
• Keeping the authorization sheet and travel expense policy up to date
• Responsible for the annual budgeting and reporting of expenses
• Responsible for completion of VAT returns, corporation tax packs, and PSA returns
• Working closely with HR in the calculations of staff costs and incentives for budget and actual reporting
• Responsible for the calculation of recharges between entities
• Providing holiday and study cover to others persons in the Finance department as necessary.
• Assisting the Head of Finance and Group financial controller with adhoc tasks as they arise.
Experience/Qualifications required:
- Qualified, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills, including vlookups, pivot tables etc
- Ability to manage large volumes of complex data and present in a user friendly manner
- Experience of Great Plains general ledger; TM1 reporting software beneficial
