Financial Controller Job in Timmins P4R1N7, Ontario Canada
Cy Rheault is currently seeking a Financial Controller who is seeking a senior position that offers more responsibility than just financial accounting. Reporting to the Directors, you will be the financial leader of the company, responsible for the precise financial management of the business going forward. You must understand the company's past financial results and be able to closely monitor the complex client and subcontractor relationships which are vital to the continued growth of the business. You will be responsible for looking forward, building the financial plan of the company, and identifying and mitigating risks that may cause a company to miss its financial targets.
You must be confident in your abilities to review processes, recommend improvements and lead effectively through change. You will be a self-starter and appreciate the fact that you will have full responsibility for Finance Accounting for the entire company. Previous experience working for an EPC, Construction or similar business is essential for this position. This permanent position is located in Timmins, Ontario.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Cost Control Reporting for 20 - 25 ongoing projects
Reconciliations; progress, suppliers, projects
Maintain tight control of receivables
Quarterly Reporting
Maintain tight control of Work-on-Hand
Cash Management
Liaise with the bank (quarterly)
Billing, Accounts Receivable Collections
Maintenance of General Ledger
Annual Financial Audit preparation Liaison with external auditors
Tax Compliance: GST, PST Corporate
Preparation presentation of Financial Statements (Quarterly Annual)
Preparation presentation of management reports
Evaluation of various operating results and implement required change to improve performance efficiencies
Lead annual Forecasting Budgeting Process
Mentor and Lead a team of five (5) reports
Develop and implement corporate policies procedures
Who we're looking for
Professional accounting designation CA, CGA, CMA
Minimum 5 years experience involving supervision of accounting department, cost control and scrutiny, financial reporting, strategic planning and budgeting
As an important part of Senior Management, work collaboratively with others and lead continuous improvement initiatives within your department
Previous experience working for an EPC, Construction or like business is essential
Proficient in Excel Accpac
Good listener with the ability to convey ideas in a clear and concise manner
Make fast and intellectual decisions
Self motivated with excellent work ethic
A contributing team player with an attitude of support motivation for fellow employees
