JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will serve as a vital business partner between the company and its portfolio of operating businesses. You will be responsible for monitoring financial performance of the operating businesses and for producing management information and financial review commentary. You will be heavily involved with the budgeting and forecasting process and play a key role in a number of ad-hoc strategic projects at the business.
You will be a qualified accountant with previous management reporting and financial control experience. The ability to communicate with authority and a proactive attitude towards implementing business change are essential.
COMPANY DESCRIPTION
An emerging private equity company investing on a principal basis for an UNHW individual. The company is building a small London-based team that will bring additional expertise, rigour and insight to its parent group’s investment process. The company is responsible for analysing and recommending new European deal opportunities and for managing, monitoring and implementing strategic change at the group’s European portfolio businesses. The role will be based in Mayfair, London.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Developing and preparing monthly management information packs on the financial performance of portfolio businesses, including commentary and financial analysis.
2. Working with management to prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and ad hoc information requests.
3. Proactively managing the liquidity and funding requirements of business in start-up/growth mode.
4. Preparing documentation and implementing quality control procedures in advance of internal audits.
5. Overseeing audit processes and regulatory filings.
6. Acting as an internal accountant to the company, including financial accounting, budgeting and day-to-day business management.
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE
1. Strong technical accounting experience, including completed ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
2. Big 4 or Blue Chip experience highly preferred.
3. Hands-on experience in building, monitoring and managing operational business budgets.
4. Commercial awareness and nous sufficient to drive change at portfolio businesses.
5. Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, data manipulation).
