Financial Controller recruitment
Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Finance Manager is accountable for the day to day financial and operational functions of the European Venture Capital business. The Finance Manager is expected to work closely with the Partners and investment professionals and is expected to be a key contributor in making the group a success.
The incumbent is expected to lead the firm's financial analysis through activities such as producing management accounts, fair value analysis, managing the quarterly FAS 157 reporting, preparing the annual budget and completing internal management and performance information reports. The position will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with the firm's investment process, guidelines and internal policies.
Measuring effectiveness of sourcing initiatives and recommending adjustments in strategy
Ensuring adequate documentation supporting investment decisions
Efficiently communicating and coordinating investment closings
Fund and partner level financial reports
Investment performance and attribution
Cash flow projections
Investment related compensation
Budgets and related analysis
Financial Statement Reviews
Board reporting
· Monitor portfolio performance
Appropriate quarterly portfolio valuations for financial reporting purposes
Manage the Quarterly FAS 157 reporting
IRR calculations
Applicants for this fantastic opportunity will need to fulfil the following criteria.
· Strong academic track record - degree-level qualification
· Chartered accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with an MBA or Masters or CFA a plus
· Relevant experience from Private Equity/Venture Capital business
· A strong understanding of financial and accounting principles and systems
· Solid business acumen
· Creativity and tenacity in analysis and problem solving
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· An innate interest and passion for investments and in issues related to PE/VC
