The FactSet Fixed Income Analytics group is currently looking to fill the position of Financial Engineer to assist in developing financial components for our suite of Fixed Income Analytics Software products. 

 

FactSet Fixed Income Analytics Software products, part of FactSet’s full suite of financial applications, offer complete fixed income analytics and portfolio management software to financial institutions trading and investing in the fixed income market. Our products provide all the tools necessary for the proper valuation and risk management of all fixed income securities including Treasuries, Agencies, Corporates, all types of Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, MBS, CMOs, ABS, and CMBS.

 

The Financial Engineer will be working closely with other Financial Engineers, Product Developers and Software Engineers to research and implement financial functions and components.  A successful candidate should have a solid background in finance, programming, and mathematics. 

 

The Fixed Income Analytics group at FactSet offers an exciting and stimulating work environment. The group develops fixed income analytics features that are used concurrently by a number of FactSet Fixed Income Products: Fixed Income Portfolio Analysis, Fixed Income Explorer, Fixed Income Manager.  These products are currently used by traders, analysts, portfolio managers and risk managers at leading Broker/Dealers, Banks, Insurance Companies, Money Managers, Hedge Funds and other financial institutions. Fixed Income Products is one of the fastest growing product segments in FactSet, offering exciting growth opportunities to everyone on the team.

 

Job requirements:

·         Graduate degree in Financial Engineering or similar (MBA). Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science is preferred

·         Very strong analytical and problem solving abilities. A good background or coursework in Fixed Income is strongly preferred.

·         Ability to conduct independent research on various fixed income subjects: securities, models, market data, market conventions and practices - with tangible outcomes for fixed income analytics software development.

·         Experience developing applications in C++ and VB6 or strong academic background in both.

·         Expert knowledge of Excel. VBA is preferred.

·         Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to articulate financial concepts to a diverse group of individuals.

·         Excellent time management and self organizational skills. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and the ability to deliver timely results.

·         Ability to work in a dynamic and a strong team oriented setting, self starter.

·         Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, Reuters (API or user level) is a plus. Matlab is a plus. SQL is a plus.

·         Experience with Intex, ADP and AFT (API or user level) is a big plus.
