Financial Institutions – Credit Analyst recruitment
Outline:
The primary function of the Financial Institutions credit risk team is to monitor the ongoing credit quality of existing counterparties and assess the credit worthiness of prospective counterparties.
The portfolio is global but primarily in developed markets, with a significant proportion of counterparties established in UK Ireland (including local subsidiaries of global groups).
This Senior Manager position, leading a small team with primary focus on insurance companies, is part of the FIs team within Wholesale Credit Risk.
Leading a small team with primary focus on insurance companies in the UK and Ireland, the Senior Manager will be responsible for:
Ongoing credit monitoring and timely completion of annual reviews and internal ratings on the assigned portfolio.
Update of internal credit risk databases and the global credit risk management limit, (including communication with Risk in the Group's Head Office, when appropriate), to ensure that data integrity of assets is accurately maintained.
Liaising with front office (traders and relationship managers), and Legal, Compliance and other internal departments, to ensure prompt and diligent attention to requests for new and increased limits for counterparties, new and amended documentation, and other changes.
Essential Requirements :
Relevant experience in financial markets and wholesale credit for FIs (broad set of counterparties), providing an in-depth knowledge of capital markets and treasury products. Ideally, this experience should include the range of repo, stock borrowing/lending, equity financing and equity derivative products.
Practical experience of credit analysis of financial institutions (including banks and insurance companies).
Ability to undertake financial analysis, write credit reports and articulate to management on key credit issues relating to both counterparty and product risks.
Familiarity with financial statements and accounting terminology.
Understanding of legal documentation and regulatory issues, particularly relating to treasury and capital markets products.
