The UBS Operational Finance team is looking for a keen and enthusiastic accountant to join its Wealth Management Group Run-the-Bank team.
The position is primarily a multi-faceted monthly reporting role with a broad set of responsibilities and is a rare opportunity to join this well regarded team. The role will provide the right candidate with a strong grounding in both Financial Management Accounting and control-based issues confronted in a wealth manager and will provide them with a good overview of the UBS Wealth Management business.
The ideal candidate will have a proven history in the financial services and/or Audit sector and be preferably a member of CIMA/ACCA/ACA , or equivalent international qualification.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Delivery of ad hoc requests for data from Front Office systems for delivery to other London and Swiss-based systems.
- Assume ownership of account lines for the London Branch Balance Sheet and PL through to Group level.
- Complete Regulatory Returns, daily processes and quarterly returns including VAT, FSA, and MLAR.
- Ownership of cost centre reporting structure and account lines.
- Responsible for all changes/additions across the Accounting function and controls around this process.
- Post month end journals and adjustments, own data static and ensure integrity of systems and processes via regular Sox sign offs.
- Work closely with Change the bank and be involved in testing of fees, processes, automation of revenues etc.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong practical financial control experience or academics
- Experienced in Excel, good knowledge of Access, as well as UAT and testing environments.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy including some Change experience.
- Previous experience of an investment bank, broker or wealth manager
- Good communicator with ability to work to deadlines.
