Financial Management/Solutions Enablement (Peoplesoft, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle) for Global Advisory Firm

Our Global Advisory client's Solutions Enablement group focuses on connecting business and technology in order to provide solutions to improve our client’s technology architecture and systems and address complex issues around regulatory and accounting change implementation, enterprise information management, liquidity management, mergers and acquisitions and IT strategy and performance.  Within Solutions Enablement, our Finance Management team specializes on assisting clients with mission-critical Finance business issues.  Specifically, our experienced practitioners deliver advice and support across the technology lifecycle, spanning many of the following competency areas:  

Finance Transformation Strategy and Delivery
Financial Systems Architecture Assessment and Design
Financial Systems Implementation Assistance (focused on ERP / General Ledger / Accounting Hub systems)
Financial Systems Effectiveness Assessment
Financial Process Assessment and Design
Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting Strategy
Performance Management and Measurement Improvement
Financial / Management Reporting Capability Assessment and Design
Data Governance / Management
Data Warehousing Design
Technology Change Management


Responsibilities

Successful team members within this role demonstrate deep technology capabilities and professional knowledge across the competency areas outlined above, possess in-depth business acumen, remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. They demonstrate an ability to quickly assimilate new information, including new technologies and methodologies, as well as the capacity to quickly learn a client’s complex finance and technology environment.  They effectively manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, and provide constructive on-the-job feedback and coaching to other team members. They foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment, and play an active role in counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization.

Successful individuals also establish solid relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels across the organization, and consistently deliver quality client services.  In addition to developing and maintaining long-term client relationships and networks, they also cultivate and manage business development opportunities. They understand our client and its service lines and actively assess and present ideas to serve clients, and develop relationships with team members across all firm practices to serve client needs.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have:
a bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
a degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field; MBA or MS degree preferred
a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor to a financial services company
demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team of technology advisors through all phases of the technology life cycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion and testing
strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology skills
ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
characteristics of a forward thinker and self motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (and know when to lead and when to follow)
strong analytical and problem-solving skills
a strong work ethic
a willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 50-70%
a valid driver's license valid in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel internationally

Previous experience in any of the following technology areas:
General Ledger / Sub-Ledger / Accounting Hub (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft or SAP)
Financial consolidation systems (e.g., Hyperion HFM)
Financial data management tools (e.g., Hyperion FDM/ FDQM)
Financial data warehouses
Finance, management and regulatory reporting systems
GL Reconciliation systems (e.g., BlackLine)
Performance management tools (e.g., Hyperion Planning)
Business intelligence tools (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects)

The successful candidate should possess strong knowledge of and experience in supervising and executing all phases of the technology life cycle, based on proven project management and testing methodologies. It is essential that the successful candidate possess a deep knowledge of technical architecture design and have a good understanding of technology tools and components to reasonably argue for and against all components (middleware, database, reporting tools, etc.) in financial systems architecture.
