Financial Modeling Analyst & Project Finance Executive
THE ROLE
Supporting the origination and execution of project finance transactions in the clean tech/ energy efficiency sector, both in the UK and targeted international markets.
Creating a working financial model for assessing viability of projects for investment and the required debt structure terms, together with expected IRR for both end user and PF investors.
Supporting the modeling work required to effect changes to SPV operational models
Managing and undertaking quality assurance and review procedures on operational model updates
Developing the review of accounting and taxation treatments as applied within operational model updates
Managing the update review timetable and agreeing delivery dates for models with the senior team of the SPVs
Managing counter party credit risk and building risk mitigation strategies.
The position will involve preparation of pitch books, credit applications, review of transaction due diligence and executing internal procedures for the booking of substantial commitments to major PF deals.
Managing exchange risk when working in international markets, raising finance in local currency to mitigate exchange rate movement.
The position will also involve managing the accounting for the team's performance and preparing various reports for management team.
Supporting the development of contractual testing processes for operational model updates
Undertaking risk assessments of key issues inherent in the project business plan
Supporting the work carried out in respect of the pricing for project variation
Undertaking any other financial modeling consultancy work on an ad-hoc basis required in respect of specific SPV operational models
THE CANDIDATE
Suitable candidates should have proven experience of building financial models and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
You should also be degree educated (2:1 or higher), driven and self-motivated with strong communication skills.
2-3 years of relevant experience to date.
Experience gained with a respectable PF platform, Bank, Asset Finance Division, Loans Department or Top Advisor.
Possess strong problem solving skills
Be well organised and a genuine self-starter in a dynamic working environment to ensure tight deadlines are met.
Strong academic background - degree in mathematical disciplines preferred
To succeed in this role it would be useful, but not essential:
Be tertiary qualified in a commerce related discipline - accounting, finance, economics - or equivalent
Have experience in a Loan Operations, Debt or Asset financing role or similar
Be familiar with Loan Market Association (LMA) standard terms and conditions, LMA trade documentation, and credit documentation.
Have experience using the commercial loans management system, LoanIQ (MiSys)
International experience would be an advantage.
