Paraplanner - Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting product and fund research, client liaison and report production. This role is pivotal to the continued smooth running of the firm's back office support systems.
Other key responsibilities are:
- To provide backup to the advisor to enable them to concentrate on client servicing and marketing the firm's services to new clients and their professional advisor
- Providing vital support which includes technical research and analysis within the framework of agreed projects
- Client fact find case analysis and on-going review
- Compliance related projects and the preparation of letters, reports and technical briefings
- Day-to-day call answering, talking to clients, attending product update meetings both internally and externally
- Assist the Firm in providing the clients with a highly personal, bespoke financial planning service
- Gathering information from clients and scheme trustees/managers to enable preparation of pensions and divorce and pension transfer analysis reports
- Interpretation and modelling of occupational pension and personal pension scheme structures to calculate equalisation of pension benefits on divorce
- Identifying errors and omissions in the information provided and preparation of transfer analysis reports and associated documents
- Manage the plans from data entry onto Intelligent Office and Paradigm front and back office systems
- Use of O M pension profiler software, Trustnet and Assureweb
- Preparation of draft reason why letters for sign off by Pension Transfer Specialist together with providing progress reports to introducers on agreed frequency
- Assisting with recording and accounting of fees providing a high standard of service to all existing clients as well as maintaining and developing the introducer database
Paraplanner - Person Specification
- A minimum of 3 years professional finance services experience
- Financial Planning Certificate/Diploma and JO9 para-planning unit
- Experience of Intelligence Office software and knowledge of Paradigm front and back office systems would be beneficial

- Technical knowledge in the areas of pensions, investment and estate planning

- Excellent computer skills in MS Office word and excel and powerpoint
