Financial Planning & Analysis Manager recruitment
Role Purpose:
- Implement and lead the Financial Planning Analysis process for the Group, co-ordinating with business units and developing an efficient annual planning, budgeting and forecasting process.
- Delivering impactful and insightful analysis into business performance across the Group and providing senior management with understandable, clear and robust information
Specific Areas of Role Accountability:
- Develop and manage the Group planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, resulting in more meaningful and robust analyses of profit, cash flow and working capital.
- Preparation of Group budgets and forecasts, including commentary and analysis.
- Delivering improved understanding of trends, risks and opportunities across the Group and improved ability to action plan and course correct.
- Providing financial support for the three year strategic plan and AOP for the Group.
- Developing the Group FPA Manager role, including how responsibilities sit between Business Units (FPA teams where applicable) and Group, and ensuring that roles and responsibilities are clear.
- Delivering insightful analysis of results through quarterly Group business review process.
- Prepare presentations for the Exco that are impactful, enable clear decision making and provide challenge and debate.
- Integrating new business units into the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Working with business units and influencing key stakeholders to deliver accurate and meaningful budgets and forecasts in the most efficient manner.
- Driving best practice and standardisation of Business Unit and Group reporting (eg MIP)
- Ensuring Group consolidation package enables production of the Group MIP monthly reporting and forecasting information.
- Ensure that key FPA dates are included in the financial calendar communicated to Business Units.
Qualifications Required:
• Degree or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant with PQE
Experience Skills Required:
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes.
• Broad business awareness and commercial understanding, preferably in a FMCG environment.
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to distil key messages and make recommendations from complex data.
• Ability to understand business strategy and articulate the key financial messages arising from it.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and managing a change agenda.
• Proactive, forward looking and challenging mindset, with confidence to lead agenda.
• Demonstrable experience in implementing and coordinating the FPA process across a large business or group.
• Experience of implementing new processes across a group.
• Proven influencing skills across a diverse range of stakeholders.
