The Planning and Market Insight team is responsible for the production of the banks 5 year retail plan and delivery of critical competitor and market insight used across the retail bank to inform and influence key management decisions.

As a Planning Analyst, you will focus on the production of the 5-year plan, forecasting and reporting against key plan metrics to senior Santander management. You will primarily focus on revenue and should have a sound understanding of all retail products and the bank balance sheet. This is a highly visible role where you will be required to manage key relationships across numerous senior stakeholders and influence the commercial plans of the company for the long term.

As Planning Analyst your responsibilities will include:-

* Supporting the development of the 1-5 year marketing strategy for a range of products and, through effective stakeholder management and influencing, co-ordinating Sales, Finance and Marketing departments to ensure marketing plans and propositions are developed in order to deliver target market share, profit, revenue growth and margin
* Supporting the forecasting process and regular (weekly and monthly reporting requirements) reporting of plan metrics (income, costs, balance, share, enablers, risks opportunities)
* Production of regular monitoring and reporting against core plan metrics
* Supporting the quarterly sales target process, engaging with Sales and Marketing teams to challenge and negotiate channel targets for core product metrics
* Acting as planning team lead on key projects such as rating agency presentations, reviewing and overseeing the metrics financials from a Marketing perspective
* Planning team lead on FSA/ICAAP financials, co-ordinating the process between Finance and Marketing
* Managing ad-hoc queries from stakeholders and supporting the preparation of "Board level" standard presentations

As a Planning Analyst your skills and experience will include:-

* Finance background with either accountancy qualification, CIM or other relevant qualification to demonstrate knowledge and application of marketing strategies and banking balance sheet/PL management
* Knowledge of financial services market and products is essential
* Strong stakeholder management experience
* Numerate, with excellent analytical skills and strong business awareness
* Expert technical skills especially in Excel (modelling experience preferred) and PowerPoint for presenting information to senior management team
* Good Project Management skills
* Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influence
* Ability to liaise with all levels of staff and to explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff
