Financial PR Account Manager / Director

Job description:
Candidates should combine passion for the media and the City with strong communication and analytical skills, ideally with 3 yr+ experience in financial and corporate PR, banking or other finance-based services industries.
The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in managing and overseeing PR campaigns and ensuring accounts are run smoothly and efficiently. The candidate will work with UK listed and private companies on financial calendar work, transactions and corporate PR campaigns. The environment is dynamic and friendly, with a strong focus on team work. There will be plenty of opportunities for career development through involvement in a wide variety of projects.
Typical duties will involve:
• Account management and responsibility for agreed client programmes
• Managing client relationships to maximise opportunities for account development
• Day-to-day client liaison and daily media relations across trade, personal finance and national press
• Proactive and creative thinking – around campaigns and in day to day media relations
• Research for current and new clients
• Planning and implementation of financial communications strategies
• Identifying new business opportunities, taking a proactive approach with proposals and pitches
• Preparation of messaging materials – briefing notes, key messages, presentations, press releases, QA
• News monitoring for the print, online and social media
• Press analysis and summaries
• Submitting press releases to RNS
Necessary attributes:
• Ideally 3 years+ employment or strong work experience in financial services, equity markets, journalism, media or related industries
• Able to build strong relationships and confident in talking to clients and the media
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hard working, flexible and adaptable
• Organized and deliver to deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to think creatively and strategically
• Experience of pitching for new business
• Entrepreneurial, creative and enthusiastic about contributing ideas
• Keen team player
• Responsible and trusted to work with confidential information
