BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Project Manager, Strategic Business Development is responsible for assisting in the financial analysis and development of key strategic initiatives across the company. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
The focus of this role revolves around mergers acquisitions, but this person will do special projects also as time permits. There will be times when this person is extremely busy working on a few MA projects, and then other times when things may slow down and they will work on other financial projects. We need someone who can be very flexible as things start and stop, get busy and slow down, etc.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assists with initial acquisition project screening through company research, consultation with Strategic Team and industry reviews.
* Works closely with finance team, Strategic Business Development team and senior management to develop acquisition plans and identify potential synergies. Performs detailed review of the plans, critiques and communicated questions, issues and suggestions to senior management. May assist in the development of integration plans.
* Assists with the identifying strategic MA opportunities to propose to senior leaders in the company, inclusive of interaction with investment bankers and consultants.
* Performs valuation analysis using discounted cash flow, return analysis, earnings per share accretion and comparable multiples utilizing multiple techniques.
* Participates in the presentation of opportunities to senior executives and assists with price and contract negotiations.
* Provides financial modeling and analysis and valuation of target companies for senior leaders.
* Assists Strategic Business Development team in preparing initial non-binding proposals and final offers for target companies including Indications of Interest and Letters of Intent. Assists with development and review of definitive agreements.
* Use available tools to research potential acquisition targets or analyze select target markets.
* Tracks integration plan implementation, monitors and reports on acquisition’s performance versus plan.
* Monitors, drives, and reports performance metrics of the assigned project, as determined by senior management.
* Maintains flexibility in support of the evolving business needs of the company, as determined by senior management.
* Facilitates and organized management meetings.
* Responsible for special projects as assigned which may include on-line database searching, MA scenario analysis, ad-hoc reporting, competitor intelligence gathering, capital budgeting, etc.
* Develops and maintains financial analysis models to monitor key expense drivers and interacts with finance and other departments to communicate issues and takes corrective action if necessary.
* Coordinates the preparation of analytical reports, as needed, for management review.
* Performs financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternative course of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools (e.g. DCF/ROI analysis)
