Accountant, AIS Financial Reporting

 

Our client, a major Global Banking Group require an Accountant to join their AIS Financial Reporting team.

 

Their Financial Reporting Department is responsible for the preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements for their clients and for the management of all aspects of the audit process. The Department has responsibility for a broad range of funds and produces financial statements under Irish GAAP, IFRS, Lux GAAP and US GAAP.

 

Responsibilities

 

Financial statement and file preparation:

Prepare financial statements and underlying accounts files, as allocated, in an efficient and speedy manner in line with section standards and procedures.
Resolve queries arising from auditors, third parties or as a result of file review in a timely fashion.
 Liaise with internal teams (Valuations, TA etc.
Ensure files are completed, signed, filed and distributed to all parties within prescribed deadlines.
Ensure expense reviews have been performed for the audit period end by Valuations and validation of same.

Accounts preparation and audit:


Assist in preparation of timetables for assigned funds in advance of year/period end ensuring that all parties are in agreement.
Coordinate all confirmation request letters for the audit of assigned funds i.e. legal, custody, cash and transfer agency.
Monitor progress of accounts preparation and audit against timetable for assigned funds and following up to ensure all deadlines are met.
Ensure completed accounts are signed and filed on a timely basis with all relevant parties, as directed

Skills/Knowledge


Minimum educational requirements:


Part qualified Accountant ACCA or ACA


Essential skills:


Financial Statement preparation experience, preferably in a hedge fund environment.
Numerical skills, analytical skills, displaying a competency towards accuracy and attention to detail. 
Be proactive, enthusiastic, have a good work ethic and possess good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Desirable knowledge:
Previous use of accounting systems and an advanced knowledge of excel and word.
