Financial Reporting Accountant/Manager

Responsibility for establishing and maintaining a strong Financial Control framework within the Retail Bank

Areas of focus for Financial Reporting Accountants will include:

- Assisting the Retail Financial Control Managers to maintain, track and improve the monthly Retail close process by driving improvements to the hard close control KPIs and improving the reporting guidance to Retail businesses.
- Delivery of "no surprises" reporting by ensuring a proactive approach to the identification and management of Financial Control issues or weaknesses.
- Driving consistency of IFRS policies and application of changes to disclosure requirements for Retail businesses.
- Strong Relationship Management for Business Unit Financial Control teams and a point of contact support for all Financial Control matters.
- Supporting the Retail Financial Controller Managers Head of Financial Reporting.
- Statutory reporting, including RACE analysis.
- Tax pack preparation and review.
- Elements of matrix working across the team will be required.

- Minimum Part Qualified accountant with 2 years relevant experience, with at least one of these being in a financial control capacity.
- Advanced systems knowledge (SAP, RACE, Eliminations, ETAs essential).
- Strong stakeholder management across different functions of the business.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills - can operate a Relationship-Partnership approach with the Business, and build a network of contacts.
- Excellent team player.
- Ability to communicate confidently with senior management.
- Proven track record of performance and delivery.
- Problem solving ability for BAU delivery and implementation of future reporting requirements..
- Able to view issues from a commercial perspective.

- Base salary: £40,000 to £70,000
