Financial Reporting Accountant

 

Position Summary:

As a member of the Corporate Accounting Group of Orthofix International N.V., the Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for assisting in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close and consolidation process as well as the quarterly reviews and annual audit.  In this role, the Financial Reporting Accountant will use the Company’s consolidation tool, Cognos TM1, to support the global consolidation process.  Additionally, the Financial Reporting Accountant will have the opportunity to interact with various levels of the organization, both internationally and domestically.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation and elimination journal entries for all the reporting groups within the Company.

·         Assist with monthly, internal consolidated sales reports and financial statements.

·         Load monthly subsidiary data into consolidation software and validate data loaded correctly.

·         Create reports within Excel including TM1 reports as needed.

·         Assist in the analytical review of consolidated financial statements.

·         Generate supporting schedules and calculations for use in the Company’s quarterly and annual SEC filings.

·         Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit of the Company’s financial statements.

·         Ensure integrity of financial statement by maintaining and updating Sarbanes Oxley documentation.

·         Assist in the implementation of new accounting practices and policies.

·         Support the forecast and budgeting process.

·         No direct reports.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Skills, Experience and Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

·         Minimum 3 to 5 years accounting experience

·         Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statements

·         Good written and verbal communication skills

·         Proficiency with MS-Excel, MS-Word and MS-PowerPoint

·         Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

·         Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy and exactitude

·         Ability to meet strict deadlines

·         Willing to work extra hours when necessary, typically during month end close and SEC filing process

 

Desired Qualifications:

·         CPA preferred

·         Consolidation and/or financial reporting experience

·         Health Care industry experience

·         Multinational experience

·         Cognos TM1 or similar reporting tool experience
