Financial Reporting Accoutant
- A near qualified/recently qualified accountant
- Financial Accounting/Reporting experience
- Possessing 2-3 years Insurance industry experience
- Have advanced Excel user skills
- Experience of leading general ledger systems, such as SAP
- Personal skills necessary to elicit support and cooperation within the Finance team and in the wider organisation
- Able and willing to get involved as necessary with a focus on getting the job done
The role:
This is a newly created position which will play a crucial role in supporting the financial reporting process within the business. You will have responsibility for the oversight and updating of internal reporting functions, reconciliations and processing data into the company’s financial systems.
The successful candidate will have direct exposure to senior stakeholders and be responsible to the Head of Financial Reporting. You will be responsible for one direct report, although prior management experience is not essential.
Duties include:
- Monthly period end close process
- IRIS journal postings: general review and performing basic checks and reconciliations on the IRIS data feed
- Preparation of regular month end journals
- Preparation and update of the key control reconciliations throughout the month end process
- Running of regular SAP month end processes (journal reversing and FX valuation processes)
- Provide assistance with month end result analysis by running ad hoc data queries for analysis reports from the data warehouse
- Provide assistance with HFM submission process for US GAAP group reporting
- Provide assistance with update, maintenance and distribution of monthly management reports
- Preparation of Executive and Board reporting packages
- Provide assistance with other regulatory reporting, including
- Preparation of quarterly regulatory returns for international branches
- Provide assistance with annual regulatory reporting, for example Annual UK GAAP Accounts, Annual FSA return, etc
- Provide assistance in the forecasting and planning process, including
- Distribution and collection of planning templates for the business
- Update and distribution of forecast and plan reports
- Provide assistance to business with ad hoc business cases
