Financial Reporting Advisory Manager recruitment
Main Responsibilities:
• Keeping abreast of UK and international technical developments in financial reporting, company law, auditing and other assurance services, corporate governance and similar areas.
• Working as part of a small team to assist partners and staff around the UK by answering queries on technical aspects of, financial reporting, auditing etc.
• Maintaining and developing the firm’s guidance for financial reporting in response to:
- changes in external requirements
- evolving best practice externally
- feedback from offices on practical issues
• Disseminating rules, guidance and other knowledge to others within the firm, through:
- written media such as newsletters
- updating of databases
- preparing and presenting training
• Identifying needs for practical guidance on financial reporting matters and producing material to meet those needs.
• Assisting the drafting of responses by the firm to consultations by bodies such as the ASB, IASB, BERR, ICAEW, and the European Commission.
• Supporting the development of the firm’s strategy, policies and procedures for assurance advisory services, particularly in respect of financial reporting.
Key Experience/Skills
- ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification, with three or more years PQE
- Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and UK GAAP
- Practical experience of the application of IFRS and UK GAAP, within private and publicly traded companies
- Ability to analyse complex financial reporting issues and identify practical solutions supported by clear and persuasive evidence
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work as part of a close-knit team and as a self-directed individual
- Experience of working within the technical departments of a major firm of accountants
