Financial Reporting – Analyst ( Multiple Positions) recruitment

Main Duties

Perform local financial and regulatory reporting functions including:

• Local regulatory reporting/MAS reporting

• Daily regulatory monitoring (MAS Banking Act and Notices.)

• Monitor/reconcile key ledger accounts

• Complete the month end process

• Preparation of statutory accounts

• Maintain policy and procedure documentation

• Preparation of various Tax returns (GST, Corporate Tax)

• Finance representative for Singapore growth initiatives

• Ad hoc queries

Expected to assist in driving process efficiency improvements locally and contributing to local and regional project initiatives in finance.

Person Requirements

Candidate Specifications

The successful candidate must have solid accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS as it applies to Financial Instruments. The candidate must have a strong financial reporting background with familiarity of the financial reporting process in a large financial services company. The candidate must be a clear and confident communicator, and be able to work within a team environment as well as autonomously.

Qualifications / Education:  

• Qualified Accountant with strong academic background.

• Graduated (Finance / Commerce) with strong grades (A’s and B’s) from a reputable university; good Honours degree with at least a 2nd Upper required

• Experience required – 2 to 4 years post qualification experience preferably in Financial control/reporting in investment banks or Banking audit in large accounting firms or other financial services firm.  MAS regulatory reporting background will be an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge

        • Strong control skills and financial accounting knowledge.

•  Thorough understanding of relevant, up to date technical knowledge in own field.

Business Skills

•  Ability to prioritize and escalate breaches of policies and procedures as appropriate

•  Must be proactive and assertive in driving control improvement for their area

Commercial Effectiveness

•  Customer focused – consistently meets client needs within constraints of time and resources

• Consistently delivers against targets

• Can solve problems effectively and creatively.

• Strong communication skills in both formal and informal settings ability to interact with the region and as part of a global team (written and verbal)

•  Attention to details, diligent and hardworking

•  Self Starter and Finisher with strong ability to multi-task
