Fund Accountant
The Challenge
Our client, an Alternative Investment Manager, is currently seeking to recruit a Fund Accountant. The role will involve working on in-house US GAAP fund accounting and consolidation for funds managed by the clients whilst also managing other general finance related tasks such as GL management, accounts payable, and involvement in the year-end audit process.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be first-rate academically, technically and interpersonally.
• As well as having a strong academic background the successful candidate will have 3-4 years experience in a financial institution (fund administrator, bank, asset manager etc) or mid to top tier accountancy practice
• Should have experience accounting for financial instruments and derivatives. A working knowledge of structured finance products would also be advantageous
• Would likely be pursuing or have recently completed accountancy qualifications (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
• Good analytical skills with strong questioning approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enable them to deal with a variety of individuals and counterparties.
• Proven track record of ensuring reporting deadlines and obligations are met on a timely basis
• US GAAP experience would be beneficial
• JD Edwards/ Oracle-SAP knowledge would also be a positive
First rate numerical skills are essential and the candidate will be required to demonstrate this at interview stage.
