Financial Services – Modelling opportunities recruitment

In KPMG's Management Consulting practice, we don't limit ourselves to either strategy or implementation. Instead, we deliver both - equally well. Indeed, it's this broad capability that's seen us accelerate to become a 1000-strong team in less than five years. Since our creation, we've developed in-depth knowledge of an incredibly broad spread of sectors.

In the Financial Services IT Advisory Modelling team we leverage technology to help achieve clients' business strategy and help deliver sustainable business benefits.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Financial Services Modelling Team combine specialist modelling skills with knowledge of the banking, insurance and investment management industries.

The team build and develop models aligned to the following client propositions:

*
Transformation Models and Risk Based MI: with impending regulatory changes, banks are more readily aligning their finance and risk functions to ensure financial performance is measured and managed. We help analyse options relating to the transformation of these functions as well as automating financial reports and risk based MI. Our models are built on best practice and scalable.

*
Regulatory Change Impact Models: accurate and robust financial models are essential tools for measuring the impact of new regulatory changes. We help develop and validate models to enable clients to understand and communicate the impact of new regulation, such as Basel III, to management and regulators alike.

*
Cash Flow and Forecasting Models: we help analyse options for improving capital management, including models relating to:

*
Budget forecasting and financial reporting

*
Cash flows for treasury management, capital expenditure programmes and asset/portfolio management

*
Working capital management

*
Data Analysis and Optimisation Models: we help develop models to assess optimal human resource requirements for management of customers and channels (i.e. branches, call centres, websites). To achieve this we extract and analyse historical data to assess current and projected customer demand.

*
Transaction Models: we develop and validate financial projections and valuation models to reflect proposed transactions, including synergy savings, financing arrangements and investor returns.

*
Cost Optimisation Models: we develop and validate models to assess the impact of operational change and tools to implement such plans including:

*
Transformation options appraisal

*
Cost optimisation models

*
Profitability analysis, costing models (i.e. ABC)
