Financial Systems Analyst Job in New York 10027, New York US
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Financial Systems Analyst is part of 2-person team that serves as a liaison between Finance and IT and provides support to financial system end users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to financial system end users (e.g., address various BANNER issues; grant users access to budget lines; run and monitor weekly payroll-finance interface; liaison between users and IT; general troubleshooting)
- Chart of accounts maintenance, system and data integrity testing, troubleshooting and, implementation of new financial system modules
- Process annual IRS Form 1098-T's in conjunction with the Office of Student Accounts
- Assist the Financial Systems Manager with monthly and year-end system closings, maintaining the Controller's Office website, and assist with various financial system projects
- Represent Financial Systems in the cross-functional HRIS, Payroll and CIS team
- Perform ad-hoc reporting, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related field
- Minimum 2-3 years finance or related experience
- Strong functional understanding of financial operations, including General Ledger, HR/Payroll, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Accounts Receivable
- Must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Proficient with PCs, database (Oracle), and spreadsheet applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Unix, SQL and Enterprise Systems; experience with BANNER information system (SunGard Higher Education)
- Web and database programming skills
