Job Description: The senior financial writer will identify and articulate key messages for a range of audiences across a broad spectrum of media formats, and should have particularly deep knowledge of complex fixed-income topics. The writer will be a member of the Editorial team, which is responsible for developing and delivering the firm’s marketing materials, vehicles and communications. Writers act as consultants to key marketing personnel, helping them maximize the effectiveness of communications and campaigns to advance marketing priorities.
Role:
- Serve as a fixed-income specialist, providing expertise in a complex market and on our key products and investment services in that platform
- Work with Marketing Heads, advising on campaign messaging, communications strategy and marketing content for a range of investor audiences
- Collaborate with Marketing Heads, Product Managers and Creative Strategists on campaigns to develop messaging and identify key deliverables and suitable media. Articulate the message through these deliverables, adjusting tone and complexity to each targeted audience
- Work with Chief Investment Officers, Senior Portfolio Managers, Product Managers and analysts to transform raw research, insights and data into thought leadership that resonates with target audiences, reinforces and spreads marketing messages, and supports strategic campaigns. Identify ways to leverage existing work in new forms to reinforce key messages and maximize their reach
- Act as a trusted communications advisor to business leaders, senior investment professionals and key marketing personnel
- Shape routine communications such as investment strategy reports or personnel announcements in a way that helps maintain client confidence in the firm’s investment services and brand
- Curate client segments of our website, blogs and social media sites to keep content fresh and relevant, including generating content of specific interest to those audiences
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7–10 years of intensive writing experience (corporate or media preferred)
- Broad investment-management and financial-market knowledge, and specialist knowledge within fixed income, including the full range of instruments and portfolio strategies.
- Experience writing across the full range of marketing and communications media: multimedia/videos, microsites, blogs, social media, speeches, one-on-one presentations, short- and long-form publications (web and print), and interactive/animated graphics
- Ability to adjust tone and complexity of content to audiences of diverse financial sophistication, from retail investors, to financial intermediaries and professionals, to defined-benefit and defined-contribution plan sponsors, to investment consultants, hedge funds and central banks
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to coordinate with a range of production staff, including designers, artists, multimedia producers and editors, and proofreaders
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while multitasking, adhering to tight deadlines and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and social-media publishing tools; experience using cross-media content-management tools preferred
