Financial Writer recruitment

SEI’s Investment Management Unit (IMU) has an opening for a Financial Writer. This role is responsible for the coordination and completion of investment communication projects from start to finish.

Specific duties include:

•Write original content based on information gathered from subject matter experts
•Edit text provided by subject matter experts
•Deliver top-quality work quickly and with little supervision
•Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the mutual fund industry and marketing communications. Strong writing skills, high quality standards, meticulous attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines are must-have traits.

Writing samples and writing/editing tests are required.

Requirements: 

Only applicants with the following credentials will be considered:
•Minimum of 7 years of experience writing and editing market commentaries, product descriptions, white papers, detailed overviews of complex investment products and similar investment-related content
•Excellent working knowledge of investment products (e.g., mutual funds and separately managed accounts) and a passion for the financial markets
•Deep understanding of terms such as yield curve, SMAs, basis points, etc.
•Familiarity with AP style
•BA in English/Journalism or related discipline required

Location and Travel
This position will be based at corporate headquarters in Oaks, PA.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
