Financial/Professional Lines Underwriter – Vice President recruitment
Join on of the worlds largest and most diverse organization. Operating across 20 countries and unrivaled in their underwriting performance and diverse portfolio, my client is looking for experienced Financial/Professional Lines candidates to join their experienced team.
Due to a growth in business this newly created regional role will cover Hong Kong and Taiwan business, in accordance with the local and divisional strategies and marketing plans.
Principal responsibilities:
- Independently and proactively undertake marketing/business generation activities with brokers clients
- Identify target risks/accounts or segments and execute on these opportunities.
- Proactively manage renewal portfolio
- Work closely with General Liability, Property and Engineering colleagues to grow new business
- Maintains a high market profile.
Accountabilities Major Functions:
- Underwrite and execute profitable - professional indemnity, executive risks, project specific professional indemnity and medical malpractice
- Maintains a high level of technical expertise and uses this to grow the portfolio
- Provide timely, appropriate service.
- Ensure all underwriting is in line with underwriting authorities and corporate governance rules.
- Assists with development of appropriate marketing objectives strategies.
- Takes a holistic client team approach.
- Pro-actively implement own strategies and marketing plans.
- Contributes to regional strategies and marketing plans.
- Pro-actively develop and strengthens client relationships with a view to enlarging business opportunities.
- Maintains regular contact with target and core clients including brokers.
Knowledge Experience Required :
- 5-10 year experience in underwriting of professional lines and executive risks.
- Working knowledge and understanding of competitors and the trading landscape
- Sound knowledge of other Casualty Classes would be well considered.
- Relevant degree level qualifications or higher will be well considered.
- Demonstrate provision and implementation of underwriting solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on growth targets.
- Demonstrated client relationship management abilities.
- Strong orientation to driving growth.
- Client focused with strong marketing skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain profitable client relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- A good balance between underwriting and marketing/business development skills is highly desirable.
- Able to communicate and professionally interact with people across all levels of an organisation.
- English language mandatory.
