Financing Lawyer recruitment
The situation and main responsibilities
Our client is a global industrial and technology Group, prepared for a profitable growth to manage the capital deployed effectively and to increase value. And to fully unlock the existing operational and strategic potential of the Group's divisions.
Consequently it has been agreed, that a Financing Lawyer will be employed within the Group Legal Department at HQ. This employee will serve as in-house legal counsel and will be responsible to advise especially, but not limited to, with respect to all relevant matters from Group Accounting, Group Controlling and Group Treasury, including financial strategy and rating.
The main duties and accountabilities of this position include:
- Negotiating and drafting financing contracts and syndicated loan agreements;
- Monitoring of covenants;
- Drafting and reviewing of corporate guarantees, letters of credit and/or other bill guarantees;
- Cash pooling – international agreements and mechanism;
- IFRS matters and disputes;
- Knowledge of balance sheet directives, legal risk assessment of off-balance sheet matters;
- Risk analysis of financing agreements;
- Consulting in MA activities for financing matters;
- Rating;
- Bond issues;
- And others.
The Candidate Profile
Professional Experience:
- At least five years of post graduate working experience as Legal Counsel, gained with an international corporation in Financing/Banking or with an international Law firm specialising on Financing;
- Proven track record with complex, international financing matters;
- Excellent working knowledge and experience in:
- Commercial and financial issues,
- Company and commercial law,
- Laws and regulations affecting financing activities,
- Credit facilities,
- Agreements regarding matters of Treasury,
- MA activities regarding financing matters,
- Ratings and
- Bond issues.
- Skilled in negotiating detailed and comprehensive commercial contracts;
- Insider knowledge and a network of contacts in the financing industry;
- Overseas experience, used to working across different time zones and national boundaries and capable of working with multi-cultural and international environments;
- Strong ability to advise on complex and demanding projects whilst managing multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in multiple legal entities worldwide;
- Should have the visible potential to take lead lawyer responsibility for complex financing projects.

- Competent to persuade and convince people at all organisational levels through force of arguments, personal credibility, energy and commitment; and (self-) confident to represent a consistent opinion;
- Capable of facilitating among groups of different interests and able to negotiate and resolve to the mutual benefit of the company and the parties;
- Initiative, pro-active, self-motivated and energizing personality;
- Demonstrates team player abilities and a high level of service orientation;
- Entrepreneurial mind with a strategic view and capability to recognise the big picture and at the same time accurate working style and detail-orientation;
- Strong experience in handling a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex projects simultaneously;
- Excellent communication skills proven in complex organisational environments (e.g. matrix organizations) and able to present and negotiate;
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and highly flexible and adaptive to respond to the changes of plans on short notice;
- Potential and interest to take over bigger responsibility in the mid-term.
Education:
- University degree in civil law with emphasis on corporate law, financing as well as aspects of banking law;
- Attorney-at-law, bar member;
- Doctoral degree, LL.M. or MBA would be a strong plus.
Age:
- Likely to be between mid to end 30’s
Languages:
- Fluent in English spoken and written, any other language is a plus
