Volt Workforce Solutions has a long-term position available in Woodbridge, VA for a Fire Control Engineering Specialist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fire Control Engineering Specialist will:
- Perform analysis on the Legacy Fire Control System
- Develop Fire Control System Design
- Generate and maintain Fire Control Design Documentation
- Analyze customer requirements and generate Engineering specifications
- Support System Integration, Verification and Test in SIL (Systems Integration Lab) and Field environments (i.e. CONUS/OCONUS - Continental United States/Outside the Continental United States)
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
- Develop and review test plans to identify support and instrumentation requirements
- Prepare and submit daily Test Engineering logs
- Analyze test data and generate final test reports
- Establish the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM)
- Support Engineering through the initiation of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and the compilation of supporting documentation through final change incorporation
- Compose documents using word processor, spreadsheet, and/or MS Office products

This is an estimated 6-12 month contingent / temporary position in Woodbridge, VA, through Volt Workforce Solutions, based in Raleigh, NC. Requirements:
Required Skills for this Fire Control Engineering Specialist position include the following:
- Must have experience with:
- DOORS
- Must have experience with Simulink
- Must have experience with MATLAB
- Must have experience with Mentor Graphics
- Practical experience with formal Design and Development methodologies, including Configuration Management and Engineering Change Control
- BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fire Control Systems
- Solid understanding of Fire Control Systems
- Advanced computer skills and database proficiency
- Ability to coordinate Design activities within a team environment that includes Subcontractors and other Engineering disciplines
- Ability to write, derive and allocate requirements down to Component level
- Ability to write System Documentation to include specifications and test plans
- Strong understanding of Design and Development processes, from concept to production
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to make independent decisions and judgments
- Ability to meet deadlines, especially in time-critical situations
- Excellent Written and verbal communication skills
