JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently looking for an Information Security Firewall Engineer to join our team. The Information Security Firewall Engineer's objective is to assist in compliance activities and assessments used to manage the security posture of our client's Operational Support Services management infrastructure. The InfoSec Firewall Engineer maintains a working, interactive relationship with both internal and external customers to gather requirements and to address escalated concerns and represents our client's Operational Support Services Group for any approved audit activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Define, document and maintain firewall configuration standard and periodically audit production firewalls for compliance.
- Define, document and maintain firewall access-control-list (ACL) standards and periodically review production firewalls for compliance.
- Maintain logical and physical network reference diagrams for all OSS network environments.
- Script and submit firewall ACL change requests.
- Verify successful completion of all firewall-related ACL change requests.
- Consult with internal customers on application requirements for network connectivity through firewalls.
- Review requirements with change requestor and customer, if necessary, to ensure desired outcome is met on the first change attempt.
- Coordination and collection of data used in external and internal audits
- Validation of audit findings
- Audit exception tracking and remediation
- Perform compliance assessments and maintain standards
- Weekly analysis of Network Intrusion Detection activity reports with follow-up on any suspicious activity
- Work closely with Customer Support organizations and customers to help lead continual improvement in the availability, performance, functionality and security of application infrastructure.
- Participate in technical rollouts of new application releases to staging and production infrastructures.
