In the RD group, you'll be part of a team that analyzes, designs, prototypes and tests new products. The teams are multi-disciplinary and most require mechanical, electrical and firmware engineers, as well as chemists and software engineers, to create a complete system. As part of those projects, you will also work with manufacturing, purchasing and marketing departments to transform your designs into shipping products.
This is a hybrid position where the primary need is for firmware development on existing PCB designs that involve motor controls for stepper and small DC motors typically used in small robotic assemblies. These systems commonly employ multiple analog-to-digital inputs, serial communication to external devices and incorporate LCD displays with touch screen controllers for direct instrument control. The secondary need is for electrical engineering support that will entail modifications to existing PCB designs and electrical interconnect harness design.
