First Line Helpdesk IT Engineer Job in Ongar CM5 0GA, Southern UK

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a growing IT Support company on the helpdesk. You will be positioned as first/second line support and will need a solid understanding of how hardware works e.g. what components make up a computer as well as a good knowledge of Windows XP/Vista 7 environments.


You will also require an understanding of windows networking (Server/Workstation) which will include the configuration of ADSL/DSL routers.


We need someone with an entry-level understanding of Microsoft Server platforms such as Server 2003, 2008 2011 including SBS. Day to day maintenance such as maintaining users permissions within Active Directory would be beneficial. Experience with Backup software such as Symantec would also be advantageous.


A good telephone manor will be essential as you will conduct a majority of your work over the phone while using our remote support utilities. However some onsite trips will also be a necessary part of the job. The role will require you to travel so a car is necessary.
