Fixed Asset Analyst

Job Summary This position will be responsible for entering fixed assets into various systems and ledgers, including classifying capital assets in accordance with GAAP and determining federal tax categorization. In addition, the position will processes fixed asset disposals and transfers in accordance with existing policies and procedures. This position will also prepare and review monthly journal entries to ensure accuracy and supporting documentation and are in compliance with policy. In addition, they will work to identify and implement process improvements resulting in quality improvements and cost savings. Essential Functions: Ensure fixed assets are created, transferred or retired in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy. Prepare and review all monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP. Provide reports, information, and analysis in support of external and internal audits. Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed Recommend and implement process improvements that will drive increased efficiency, simplified reporting, etc. Prepare, review and maintain all fixed asset accounting records including reconciliation to GAAP fixed asset accounting records. Calculate and/or review all tax depreciation and gain/loss amounts ensuring that all assets are properly depreciated using the applicable methods, lives, and conventions. Participate in cost segregation studies to provide maximum tax depreciation expense allowable. Prepare and/or review required monthly, quarterly and/or annual account reconciliations. Provide assistance as needed with transition of processes from business units to FSSC. Ensure all processes are documented in Desktop Operating Procedures and those documents have appropriate controls over changes. Requirements: Bachelor ??s degree in Accounting/Finance 2-4 years fixed assets experience Advanced experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with fixed asset systems such as FAS, Lawson, Oracle and SAP is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and customers, both internally and externally. Excellent analytical skills with a strong working knowledge of fixed assets rules and regulations. Self-motivated individual with ability to function in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects. Textron (and its subsidiaries) participates in E-Verify.
