The Team
Our Fixed Income and Debt Capital Market Research team is one of the highest performing within the Russian market. Our analysts are well-known and respected, and on several occasions were rated among the top in Institutional Investor’s All-Russia Research Team and Cbonds.
The Role
We have a current requirement to take on a candidate to execute a multi-faceted role within the Research Team. On the one hand, the candidate is expected to contribute actively to the traditional sell-side research activities of the bank, i.e. to cover corporate and banking eurobond issuers within Russia and CIS, to generate trade ideas and communicate them to clients via daily and special research notes, as well as to accompany DCM deals. On the other hand, the candidate should be ready to tackle a wide range of assignments required to expand the bank’s fixed income and capital markets franchise both geographically and in terms of the products offered to clients.
The candidate will report to the head of Fixed Income Research and be a key member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- produce daily, and thematic analytical pieces on the Russian Russian/CIS bond market.
- initiate and contribute to high-caliber research projects within the team and help communicate these to both traders and external clients to support the bank's Fixed Income business.
- market research to help develop new clients.
- timely and competent response to requests of other members of the bank’s FI research team, as well as the bank’s top management.
- generation of ideas bound to expand and deepen the bank’s fixed income and capital markets niche.
The Candidate
The role requires a basic understanding of the Fixed Income and Debt Capital Markets including Treasuries, Munis, Corporates as well as an understanding of macroeconomy and policy. Other requirements include strong analytical and number-crunching skills, ability to multitask and tackle a wide range of assignments in a time-efficient manner, strong communication in both written and spoken Russian and English, and the ability to interpret information from many sources and angles to make trading recommendations. Applicants must have a higher degree in economics or finance from a top-tier university, 2+ years of relevant experience. Progress toward the CFA designation is strongly preferred, knowledge of Oriental languages (i.e. Chinese, Japanese or Korean) could act as another advantage. Candidates with post-graduate studies in the field will be given preference.
