Group Description

Within Global FID Sales Management, is a newly formed group solely dedicated to handle all client account needs. The Client OnBoarding team's primary mandate is to act as a central point of contact for both established and new Fixed Income clients account inquires. Once a business opportunity is established, the Onboarding associate liaises directly with the client to ensure complete functionality on the MS trading platforms.  Additionally, onboarding represents the client's interests to internal counterparts, including, but not limited to Credit Risk, Counterparty Risk and Legal. As the central point of contact for the client away from their Sales coverage, Onboarding ensures any client issues are promptly surfaced, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner, so client business is not hindered or interrupted. This position requires very strong relationship management, organizational and communication skills in order to have a successful commercial impact on the process. In addition, knowledge about the Firm's products and services is of paramount importance to draw the client closer to Morgan Stanley as the Onboarding team helps to introduce relationships across departments.

The Client OnBoarding Group is responsible for establishing and implementing procedures and controls related to account opening as well as identifying opportunities to streamline the OnBoarding process.  The team works to enhance current technology in order to effectively capture and manage client relationship information and reference data.

Role Description:
• Handle account requests throughout the process, from initiation and follow-ups through to completion
• Communicate with client to procure necessary information and documents for internal teams
• Initiate client accounts via online web-tool, including all pertinent information for internal due diligence
• Build relationships with key decision makers at the client and manage the on-boarding relationship proactively (e.g. reconciling sub-account lists, advanced warning of launches, issue management, etc.)
• Work with Sales and Sales Management to ensure maximum account coverage
• Advise clients and internal stakeholders on emerging issues, troubleshoot problems and collaborate on solutions
• Coordinate with Sales to prioritize account requests and communicate amongst internal groups
• Act as the Sales escalation point for internal groups.
• Monitor the progress of all account openings and document contract negotiations for sales teams and keep them and the clients updated on progress.

Skills Required

Skills Required:
• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with Sales and Trading, all levels of the client organization and representatives from Morgan Stanley infrastructure teams
• Strong understanding of Morgan Stanley clients and products
• Exceptional problem solving ability.
• Understanding of the firm's structure and ability to identify opportunities to utilize firm resources to meet the client's needs.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Proven client relationship skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the team as they arise.
• College/University degree or equivalent with a business focus and relevant/proven experience.
