Product Control team at Jefferies International
Role
This role for an AVP within the Fixed Income and Rates Product Control team at Jefferies International covering the London based businesses.
Product set includes, but not limited to, Cash Bonds, Repos, Interest Rate Derivatives, Inflation Swaps, CDS, Caps Floors, Swaptions and Futures (Currency, IR, Bond and Options).
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are:
Daily PL Production including
- Flash v Actual Analysis
- PL Explain
- Formal PL production
- FOBO review
- Daily Inventory Reporting
Month End work including
- Balance Sheet substantiation
- Reconciliation of reported PL to ledger
- Assistance to IPV process
- Analytical Review (PL and BS)
- Contribution to month end reporting pack
Additional responsibilities
- Improve and challenge existing controls and processes
- Management of junior members of the PC team
- Involvement in new business approval process
- Support implementation of new group sub ledger (JDS)
- Ad hoc project work
Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong, proven Product Control Experience (Fixed Income/Rates preferred)
- Strong Excel knowledge
- High attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills
- Team player
- Ability to automate and rationalise process as necessary
- This role will be the key controller for Fixed Income and Rates business here in London and must be able to build a relationship with the front office, middle office and risk. Ensuring continually assessing and building upon control environment will be crucial to success.
