Fixed Income Applications Architect recruitment
The Architect works closely with quantitative analysts, data teams, and application developers to deliver effective, innovative solutions to investment problems. The incumbent has a solid understanding of business strategy and combines that knowledge with a high level of technical expertise in order to identify business needs and to recommend and implement sophisticated solutions.
Principal Responsibilities
Guides the development of a robust, high-performing, scalable, and extensible infrastructure to support the increasingly complex analytical needs of the investment staff.
Supports the development of an enterprise architecture strategy for Investments. Provides leadership and support to the teams responsible for the development of new analytical applications and reports.
Leads the transformation of models and analytical approaches prototyped by quantitative staff into easy-to-use, production-ready applications for use by fixed income portfolio managers, analysts, and traders.
Develops a deep understanding of the current technical and data architecture and recommends opportunities for improvements.
Facilitates and participates in detailed application technical design and development.
Creates prototypes that demonstrate advocated implementation approaches.
Coordinates with senior technical staff to leverage ideas and ensure maximum use of enterprise-standard technologies.
Leads code and architecture reviews; mentors junior developers.
Qualifications - Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Previous experience designing and developing analytical systems for Fixed Income investors; experience developing risk and attribution tools is particularly relevant.
Extensive knowledge of Fixed Income investing, both theory and practice.
Excellent leadership, design, and architecture skills demonstrated by having lead, designed and implemented successful large-scale investment-related projects.
At least seven years in application architecture / enterprise architecture, systems integration and development.
Expertise in multiple technology platforms, particularly .Net, SQL Server (or other RDBMS), ASP.Net, SSRS, SSIS, Informatica, message queues, web services, workflow automation tools, relational data warehouses, or object-oriented databases.
Preferred:
Advanced degree strongly preferred
CFA Charterholder or progress toward charter Familiarity with Matlab, Splus, or R
Experience developing applications for a global audience Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on-time and on-budget.
Prior project management experience and strong leadership ability.
Experience building tools to support Equity investing.
