Fixed Income Business Management Analyst recruitment
BlackRock's Fixed Income team manages more than $1 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest array of investment choices across model-based and fundamental investment styles.
The Business Management team, led by the Fixed Income Chief Operating Officer, supports the overall management of the department globally, including strategic planning, budgeting, improving business processes, evolving the Fixed Income platform, liaising with technology and operations departments, analyzing business trends, and providing key management reporting to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
Within the Fixed Income Business Management team, the Analyst is responsible for quality and timely execution of the following activities:
- Data management and analysis - Compile and synthesize relevant management data such as financials, performance, AUM and trading data. Review department metrics and data to uncover trends, identify issues and ensure accuracy. Pursue initiatives to improve data quality as appropriate.
- Presentations and reporting - Produce summary and specialized reporting of key business activities and metrics for senior level consumption, "townhall" presentations, and corporate-level reports. Create presentations and reports to communicate status and important updates on strategic projects. Aid Fixed Income executive management in preparing materials for regular meetings as well as executive off-sites.
- Project management - Assist in project management and lead directed workstreams for complex, cross-functional and/or high-impact strategic projects. Engage with stakeholders and facilitate discussions to come to resolution on key business and process issues. Ensure timely delivery of results for both one-off projects and business-as- usual reporting.
- Coordination - Coordinate effectively both within Fixed Income globally and with other BlackRock groups on cross-functional issues and business requests. Develop strong relationships with senior leaders within the global Fixed Income organization, including EMEA and APAC, as well as with Fixed Income's business partners across BlackRock.
- Ad hoc support - support Fixed Income management on ad hoc projects as required. For example: facilitate communication of organizational changes, coordinate personnel trainings and recruiting efforts with HR, assist in Business Continuity planning, etc.
Skills Qualifications:
- 1 - 2+ years of Financial Services experience.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong financial and quantitative abilities, including attention to detail and affinity for data analysis
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills including ability to function effectively within an unstructured, fast-paced environment and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including both ability to write and deliver presentations as well as coordinate amongst different levels of the firm
- Sound judgment, professionalism and discretion
